Rather than following a fixed genre or formula, neska builds her sets through intuition, contrast and storytelling. The result is an immersive and often psychedelic experience with a strong sense of narrative, which she refers to as “magic realism”: a invitation to the mysteries of the mundane through the lenses of music and sound.

neska’s selections can stretch across classic elements of electronic music such as techno, house, electro and breaks, to more contemporary bass and dub sounds, experimental halftime, abstract ambient, but also electric guitars, jazz harmonies or orchestral instruments - a variety of musical archetypes that resist a name altogether but reference her musical background knowledge as a jazz & classical pianist and rock guitarist & vocalist.

Her distinctive approach has taken her from intimate club spaces and independent venues to major festival stages across Europe. After appearances at Dekmantel Selectors and Draaimolen, she has continued to move across the European circuit, with recent performances at Primavera Sound Barcelona, and Dekmantel Festival, alongside an ongoing run of club dates across the Netherlands, UK, France, Germany, Spain and even India.

Her curiosity for music also takes shape through curation and radio. She organises fauna & flora, a multidisciplinary event series bringing together sound and other creative practices, and hosts neskafe on Echobox Radio Amsterdam. Whether through her dj sets, production, radio broadcasting or event curation, her practice builds spaces to share musical thinking, explore sonic beauty, bring like-minded people together and connect the pieces of a musical puzzle yet to be created.
