jannah is a Utrecht-based DJ and selector with a sharp ear for underground electronic music. Her sound is rooted in the ’90s — the era when electronic and club music were at their most restless, opening new avenues with every record. A resident at Rotterdam’s Clone Records, she traces a line from Detroit and the West Coast through house, electro, acid and techno, treating those sounds not as nostalgia but as a bridge between where the music came from and where it’s going.

On the floor, jannah works with gritty, analogue textures: stripped-down rhythms, punchy basslines and sharp breaks, often reaching for beat-only versions as tools to build energy her own way. Her sets are carefully prepared, but responsive to the room — sometimes allowing two tracks to unfold in long, hypnotic blends, at other moments moving through shorter, more energetic cuts as the night develops. The sound stays rooted in a stripped-back, machine-driven sensibility, while the selection and pace remain open to the moment.

Her devotion to electronic music reaches well beyond the club. She holds radio residencies on RadioRadio FM Amsterdam and Operator Rotterdam, and is just as at home at art expositions, cafés and intimate listening sessions — most recently a three-hour ambient set in the greenhouse of Leiden’s Botanical Garden. Moving between ambient, downtempo and other leftfield sounds, she adapts the same instinct for texture, atmosphere and progression to each space.
